"We were extremely excited when the opportunity arose to have a family wet plate photograph taken by Al. The whole process was fascinating and the idea of a traditional, timeless image being captured at home on our farm really appealed to us both. Al was quick and efficient in setting up his kit and happy to explain it all to us as it was coming together. The image itself took a very short time to capture and the result was wonderful.
The detail, composure and quality of the image was perfect and we will treasure the image forever. Thank you Al!"

"The patient wait for the right light, an alchemy of chemicals and the photo’s reveal moments after the shutter clicks, make you really appreciate the beauty of this craft. With his impressive Victoriana set up, passion for photography and gentle way of putting everyone at ease,  Al brings something very magical to the wet plate photography experience. What’s more, I gave birth to our little girl the very next day, which means this photograph has even more reason to be cherished. Thanks Al!"

"We had a great time having our tintype photograph taken by Al. The kids were fascinated by all the mixing of the chemicals. It’s a real spectacle, and so  magical watching the image appear on the plate. We don’t really like posing for photographs but this was such a different experience. The kids learnt loads about photography and we just had a really lovely time."

"Recently Al came to take some Tintype photos of myself and my family. It was a sunny but chilly afternoon which made for some stunning pictures. Al’s passion for his craft and his knowledge were outstanding. We all enjoyed learning about the equipment and the history behind it. A fun and educational day had by all."
